The pertinent parts of your professional life on paper. A necessary evil (for now).
How it works . . .
Resumés are like accordians. To sound their best, sometimes they need to be stretched out, other times they need to be condensed. Format, page length, inclusion of summary, objective, and testimonials are all dependent on you:
-
your education
-
your skill set
-
your work experience
-
any periods of unemployment
-
your credentials
-
your extracurriculars
-
whether or not you are changing careers
-
(most importantly) the position you are seeking to fill
Each of these factors plays a role in how you are best represented to a prospective employer. Think of us as your literary career counsel. We look at the whole case (you) and then strategically supply evidence of your ability in accordance with the trends of your chosen industry.
We don't believe in templates. A sales resumé should not be identical to a tech resumé. Or to an educator's resumé. We keep in touch with HR managers at Fortune 100 companies and a handful of battle-hardened recruiters to monitor what does and doesn't work now. Then we apply that knowledge to your personal narrative for maximum impact.
Our process . . .
If you are starting from scratch, we will send you a list of questions that focus mostly on the facts: business names, titles, academic institutions, dates, and places. Then we will follow up with a phone call to discuss your experience more subjectively. This will give us the best insight into who you are, where your strengths lie, and what you are working to achieve. This call will run 30 minutes to an hour. Lastly, we'll ask for job descriptions of any positions for which you intend to apply.
We'll return to you a draft version slightly prior to the completion date for your review. This will give us the opportunity to address any discrepancies or questions we encountered during our writing process. We make last edits and send you a clean, fresh resumé, ready for immediate use. Easy as pie.
If you already have a resumé and would like it reviewed, updated, or rewritten, the process is simple: email us your current resumé with specific instructions on what would like us to do. We will work up an estimate based on your request and the information you provide us and schedule a consultative call to make sure all bases are covered. Depending on your needs, this call will last 15 minutes to an hour. We take it from there and return you a new and improved resumé. As always, a free edit will be included in your estimate.
Estimates are always free. No risk, no hassle. Get started here.
