A written statement of interest addressed to a prospective employer designed to introduce a more personal side of a candidate's skill and personality. A necessary evil, much like the resumé.
How it works . . .
We will ask for your current resumé and the job description/posting for the position you are applying for. Then we'll schedule a call with you to discuss specifics: why you are applying for this particular job? Why this business/organization? Why you think you are good fit (in your own words)? This call will last approximately 30 minutes.
We then send you a hand-crafted cover letter that you can apply to this particular job, and with a little tweaking, other similar jobs in the future. It may be tempting to request a general cover letter to use for multiple jobs/points of entry/industries over time. While we are happy to write one, we caution against this approach. Most recruiters tend to file form cover letters without ever reading them. In the trashcan. A potential employer wants to know why they should invest in you, specifically, for this position. A good cover letter partnered with a good resumé should answer that question in no uncertain terms.
How refreshing!
Already have a solid cover letter and just want a quick review? We get that sometime a little tweaking is all it takes. That's why we don't have minimums when it comes to project size. Estimates are always free. Get started here.
